SOLUTION
A website revamp!

GOALS
What should the revamp achieve?

RESEARCH
What do users want?
5 survey participants were asked the following 5 questions about navigating an ecommerce website. (1 being the most negative and 5 being the most positive).
Do you prefer simplicity over detail? (Average answer of 2.8)
Is a smooth checkout process just as important as the website’s products? (Average answer of 2.4)
Is it important for a company to have as much information about themselves as possible? (Average answer of 3.2)
Do the aesthetics of an ecommerce website matter more than the content? (Average answer of 2.4)
Do you use google to look for new websites? (Average answer of 5)
With this feedback in mind, my redesign for the website included simplicity, a better way to display products, more information about the company, and if this were not just a mock project, I would have requested an improved SEO.
COMPETITVE ANALYSIS
Do competitors exist?
Direct competitors do not exist. We could not find another brand of Filipino popcorn through searching alone, so there is not very much we are competing with.
As far as looking at global popcorn brands such as Orville and Jiffy Pop, their websites are not very visually appealing but are simple and easy to use. So, I decided to use this as a baseline for how to redesign this website.
DESIGN PROCESS
What worked and what did not?
The design process followed a simple flow of research, plan, wireframe then, prototype.
I got a decent amount of feedback from peers and my family who could give me an insight on what Filipino’s found more appealing.

The biggest change was how the products were laid out. Initially, I wanted to go with a large list and have it be scrolled through. However, through feedback, I went with a different approach instead. The product screen ended up as a smaller list but with clickable categories. It was brought to my attention that this would work better with the target audience for this website.
Style Guide

What would I do differently next time?
This was my first project, there is a lot I would do differently. The first thing would be to take a more global approach. I feel like there are many aspects of this website where I adjusted the contents to suit that of Filipino preference just because it was a Filipino Brand.
I feel that because of my limited time frame, I was not able to design the “Our Story” and “About Us” page to be as visually appealing as I would like. If I could do this again I would take more time on those pages specifically.
I would see if I could come up with a way to incorporate one or two more colours as an accent to the dominant red colour in the website.
